is proud to announce their support of The Honor Flight Network. From now through
the end of 2009, SeniorLiving.Net will make a donation each time we help a
senior move in to senior care. To kick-off the campaign, SeniorLiving.Net is
making a donation in honor of National Assisted Living Week.
"We thought it was a great way to recognize the dedicated efforts of the 60
assisted living partners we work with every day," explains Todd Walrath, CEO and
Founder of SeniorLiving.Net. "The Honor Flight Network was the perfect choice
for our first charitable partnership. We work with older adults and their
families. Many of those making the move to senior living are veterans. We chose
The Honor Flight Network because they make it possible for veterans to travel
here to Washington, D.C. to see the memorials dedicated to their service. There
is no charge to veterans for the trip."
According to Judy Lemmons, Director of Public Relations for Honor Flight, "we
have approximately 6,000 veterans on our national "anxiously waiting" list. There are another 15,000 on the
waiting lists of the 73 hubs across the country in 33 states. Sadly, within a decade, this
generation of American Heroes will be lost to time. Our honorary advisor, Senator Bob
Dole said it best when he said, "the character of a nation can well be
determined by how it pays homage to its heroes.""
